It has come to our notice that some children are bringing products into school that contain nuts. We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that we are a nut free school as we have a number of staff and children with allergies to a variety of nuts.
As a help, the following is an extract from our website:
Packed Lunches
For parents/carers sending their children with packed lunches, it is important to note that there are no designated storage facilities for large lunchboxes. Parents/carers are therefore requested to send lunches in small, airtight and durable containers.
Please do not send any food that contains NUTS or PEANUTS, such as Nutella and Peanut Butter, or SEEDS including Sesame, Mustard, Sunflower and Poppy Seeds, as we have some children and staff with serious nut and seed allergies.
Breaktime Snack
We encourage the children to bring in fruit or vegetables as a mid-morning snack if they wish. Pre-packaged snacks such as crisps, sweets or cereal bars are not allowed. Children are also strongly encouraged to bring in water in a named plastic bottle which can be refilled during the day.
We understand it can be difficult checking ingredients on packaging, but for the safety of all our children we trust you will help us implement the above.
Kind regards,
Junior School Office
