Dear Parents and Carers,
Christmas can feel like an overwhelmingly busy time, whether within school or without, so why not reduce the pressure to meet others’ expectations and focus on what works for you and your family?
“Out with the old, in with the new” from Beacon House provides support and ideas for doing things a bit differently, accommodating changes in finances, family or circumstances. It can feel hard to let go of the way things have always been, so how can we begin to do things differently? Beacon House suggests:
- Taking bite-sized chunks
- Tolerating discomfort
- Preparing others
- Not everyone needs to join in
- It doesn’t have to be a big thing
- If it doesn’t work, move on
Whether it’s creating your own family panto, gifting vouchers for home-based activities such as breakfast in bed, or restricting present-buying to a £5 item from a charity shop, “Out with the old, in with the new” offers plenty of ideas for enjoying family time together, creating fond memories and possibly new traditions.
Why not have a look and see what you might do differently this year?
Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year,
