Mobile Phones and Walking Home Alone
Only Year 6 pupils are allowed to bring mobile phones into school with parent/carer permission as they are becoming more responsible and are getting ready to move on to secondary school. For further information on this please view our General Information Booklet.
We have reason to believe that some Year 5 pupils are walking home alone. For safeguarding reasons, we would not recommend this but please be aware that you do need to let our office know if you give permission for this to happen. Just to clarify – mobile phones in school for Year 5 are not allowed.
Fantastic Foil Competition
Launched in an assembly this week was a Fantastic Foil Competition. Primary school children are being asked to create sculptures from aluminium foil only with the theme of Spring or Nature. To enter, simply e-mail a photo of the entry along with the name and school to re3info@reading.gov.uk, with the subject line ‘Fantastic Foil’. The closing date for entries is 19th April, and winners will be announced within two weeks. For full details, including the top prizes on offer, please visit the re3 website.
PTA Live Music Night
The PTA are really excited to bring you something different… Join us at the Morgan Centre from 7pm on Saturday 27th April for an evening of live music featuring talented local acts. From rock classics to modern covers, with a fully stocked bar. Bring your friends, tap your feet and let the rhythm take over!

EPC Soccer Skills are now taking bookings for their Thursday after school club here at Oaklands Junior School as are AceStars Tennis Club also on a Thursday and Little Musketeers which runs on Fridays. There is also a link on this page to Just Play Sports Easter Holiday Camp.

Culinera’s Summer 2024 menu will be available after the Easter break and you will be able to place orders from Monday 1st April, using your ParentPay account.
