Learning to Think and Thinking to Learn

WELCOME back to all our pupils, parents and staff, with a special warm welcome to all our new pupils and parents across all year groups, including a whole new cohort of Year 3s.

Approximately a third of the pupils are working at Greater Depth in Reading, Writing and Maths.

We wish our former pupils every success as they move on and hope that they will all feel the same as the anonymous quote below, in whatever paths their lives may take them in the future, applying these sentiments to their new ventures:

It was the best experience ever, I had so much fun in Oaklands Junior School,
it made me feel safe and happy.

Over the summer, improvements have included a huge amount of work being carried out in school during the holidays. Our computer suite has been completely rebuilt and redecorated, with new flooring, benching and new computers installed. The first week or so of the new term will now be needed to install programmes and run diagnostic checks before pupils can begin using them. The main school entrance has also been redecorated by a small group of HP staff who kindly volunteered a day of help in the community. Finally, our hall floor is now looking brand new, having been refurbished, following water damage last February.

We look forward to welcoming you all back to school for the new term and the start of a new academic year, inspiring our pupils in their journey to achieving success.
